Ringing?

We noticed last week what a disproportionate number of participants had Tolkien's Lord of the Rings either in their list of "most tattered" books or featured in the photos. So . . .

1. Have you read Lord of the Rings? I have read a good chunk of Lord of the Rings, but I did listen to the whole thing on CD. Allen gave me a copy of this as part of the first Christmas we were dating. I gave him a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
   
2. If so, how many times have you read it? Just once? Or so many you can't count? Just once
   
3. If not, why not? Not your cup of tea?
4. And, while we're on the subject, did you see the Oscar-winning movie(s)? What did you think? Yes I have seen the movie. Again, the first holiday season Allen and I were together was the year that both the first LOTR and the first Harry Potter moves came out. The deal was that we would go to see both. Since them I have seen all three LOTR movies several times and Allen and I even did a 12 hour marathon of all three uncut versions of the movies one New Year. It was a fun afternoon!
